Critical to the continued safe and reliable crude oil loading operations at Hound Point on the Firth of Forth has been the tugs operated by Targe Towing Ltd, who in March celebrated 20 years of continuous service at the terminal. During this time they have safely controlled some 24,000 tanker movements (more than 50,000 tugs assists) and have amassed an outstanding 2 million man-hours without a single lost time injury. Dave King, Global head of HSE at BP said ‘this is truly an impressive record by Targe Towing’. Tom Woolley, Targe’s Managing Director, added that ‘safety is a cornerstone of the business and part of the Targe ethic’.  In addition, it is worth noting that in the tugs have not lost any time to unplanned mechanical defects in the last 20 years either.
