The British Tugowners Association’s annual golf competition, the Sir William Crosthwaite Cup, will take place on Friday 25 September at Nizels Golf & Country Club, Kent, as part of the 4th Maritime & Offshore Community Golf Day.

Hosted in partnership with Riviera Maritime Media and The Brun Bear Foundation, the event brings together professionals from across the maritime and offshore sectors for a day of golf, networking and fundraising. BTA-affiliated golfers will compete for the Sir William Crosthwaite Cup, while members, associates, guests and industry colleagues are invited to participate in the wider event.
Nizels is a championship Par 72, 6,361-yard course and has been home to the Henry Cooper Junior Masters since 1998. Conveniently located approximately 30 minutes from London, it offers a challenging and enjoyable experience for golfers of all abilities.
The day will begin with arrival and a light breakfast from 10:30, followed by a 12:30 shotgun start. Participants will enjoy eighteen holes of golf before returning to the clubhouse for a Kromanti Rum tasting, three-course wine-paired dinner, charity auction and prize presentations. The programme concludes at approximately 23:00.
As well as providing an excellent opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and peers from across the sector, the event supports an important charitable cause. Net proceeds will be donated to the Brun Bear Foundation, a UK-registered charity, with the event delivered on a pro bono basis to maximise the charitable contribution.
Those unable to participate in the golf are welcome to join the evening reception and dinner. Opportunities are also available to sponsor elements of the event or donate auction prizes.
