The Conference, titled “Creating Pathways to 2030” will look at strategic objectives and issues for the shipping industry for the next 10 years and beyond and attendance is complimentary for BTA and Chamber members.
The full day conference will look across themes and sectors to discuss what the shipping industry must do over the next 10 years to thrive in this period of distinct transformation.
Speakers include HRH Princess Royal, Robert Courts MP – UK Shipping Minister, Grahaeme Henderson – Head of Shipping at Shell, Nikolas P Tsakos of TEN, Graham Westgarth – Chairman of V Group, and Stephen Gordon – MD at Clarksons Research Services.
Members are encouraged to attend the full day’s conference where they time, but the towage panel will be taking place at 1435 GMT and run for an hour.
The session will be moderated by Steve Dougal, MD of Century Marine Services and comprise the following:
- Kasper Karlsen, COO Europe at Svitzer Marine
- Robert G Allan of Robert Allan Architects
- Erik Van Schaik, Design & Proposal Manager at Damen Shipyards
- Ben Harris, Head of Claims at Shipowners P&I
Areas of discussion will include decarbonisation in the towage industry, tug design enhancements, safety, digitalisation, the UK Standard Conditions of Towage, and how to improve diversity in the sector.
